About Billy

Greetings! I'm Billy McCue. I'm running for the office of Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania. I was born in Allegheny County and I have a birth certificate to prove it.

Early Years

I was born in Brentwood, in Allegheny County, as the last of five children. My father died before I was born, leaving my mother Lois to raise five children on her own.

These were tough times, for her and for us. But she always inspired me to face problems with a smile, and helped instill in me the work ethic and sense of drive that has served me so well in life.

Marriage and Movies

George Romero, Director of Night of the Living Dead, gave me my start in the film industry. Although I loved acting, my biggest hits were in behind the scenes positions, guiding the complex processes of film production to a safe conclusion. It was challenging work and lots of fun.

I met my wife, Carla, on a film set here in Pittsburgh. We eventually moved to California to advance our respective careers in entertainment. But when we had our first child, Liam, we decided to move back to Pennsylvania to raise him in a more wholesome and conservative environment, away from Hollywood's bright lights, glamour and high pressure lifestyles.

A new beginning

Since returning to Pennsylvania, I have been involved in numerous successful projects. You can learn about a few of them on the right side of this page.

As well as the for-profit ventures, I am also proud of my charitable work. Every year, the ghosts of Demon House rise up and scare the living daylights out of people ... and proceeds go to my Church.

My lifetime interest in politics, intensifying as my mother's situation developed has led me to choose a new and challenging path: A run for Lieutenant Governor.

I look forward to your support.

Billy's World

Billy has been involved in a countless array of projects and businesses. Here are a few of his favorites over the years. You can click on them to see related web sites and information.

iPhone and Palm Games

When the iPhone was introduced in 2007, Billy immediately recognized its potential. With his programming team, he started designing and developing games for the phone, including Bible Trivia (right).

Bible Trivia is available on the App Store, as are many other Europa Pictures applications, on subjects ranging from sports to science. Take a look.

Chemistry Education

The Open Learning Initiative at Carnegie Mellon University, sponsored by the Hewlett Foundation, was a pioneer in offering free college-level educational materials to the world.

With guidance from Professor David Yaron, Billy and his team created short films and tutorials to bring alive a complex subject.

Here is the course (click on "Open and Free" to get in), and one of the research papers we published.
